Welcome once again to your ANC University Center Blog!  We hope you will enjoy reading about the current events in your ANC University Center!

  • Arkansas State University, Franklin University, University of Arkansas and University of Arkansas Fort Smith bring 25 bachelor degrees and 3 master degrees to ANC area residents year round.  These degrees can all be completed at ANC University Center without traveling to their main campuses either in Jonesboro, Columbus, Ohio, Fayetteville or Fort Smith.  The degrees provided by Franklin University are totally online courses in the junior/senior years.
  • There are sixty three hours a week of compressed video classes spread among five compressed video class rooms (ASU 1 by the ANC University Center), C201, C202, C203 and Crisp CVN. 
  • Thirty-seven hours of onsite instruction is provided by Arkansas State University each week by ten ASU instructors teaching on the ANC Main Campus.
  • Fifteen hours of web based instruction are provided by ASU and UAFS for the degrees they offer on our campus.
  • As of September 15th there are 230 enrollments this fall from ASU. 
  • As of September 15th there are 19 students enrolled in the Master of Science in Operations Management from University of Arkansas.
  • As of September 15th there are 18 students enrolled with Franklin University through the University Center an increase of 8 students from the past semester.
  • University of Arkansas Fort Smith welcomes its first student in the Bachelor of Information Technology degree.  UAFS provides each student a laptop with required software loaded on it in order for the student to be prepared for instruction!
  • Three part-time facilitators assist Candice, Kesha, and Patsy covering all compressed video classes in order to provide support to students and instructors.

ADVISORS AT YOUR UNIVERSITY CENTER…

  • ASU Education Advisor, Patti Jo Mitchell, to meet with Early Childhood and Mid-Level Education students and prospective students in Room C202 from 12 to 2 October 13, 27, and November 10.
  • Samantha Orban, Franklin University Regional Director, will visit current and prospective students as well as ANC Faculty and Staff Thursday, October 9, 2009.
  • ASU Admissions Assistant Director, David Kenly, will advise October 12 and November 4 in front of the ANC University Center from 9-1.
  • Dr. Larry Salinger, ASU Criminology and Sociology Advisor, will advise October 22 from 9 to 5, then November 17 and 18 from 9 to 5.
  • University of Arkansas Fort Smith’s Advisor for the Bachelor in Information Technology, Jim McGinnis, will advise October 19, November 17 and 18.  He will also attend the ANC College Fair October 19.
  • Kesha Smith, ASU Degree Center Coordinator at ANC University Center, meets with students 3 days a week.

Welcome to another exciting fall semester at Arkansas Northeastern College University Center!!!

First day of classes from ASU, U of A and UAFS is Monday, August 24, 2009!

We welcome MANY new students in all of the degrees offered on our campus by ASU, U of A, UAFS and Franklin University! This will be another amazing semester, and do not hesitate to ask Candice or Patsy for assistance with University Center programs. University Center fall 2009 highlights we want you to be aware of includes the following…

Kesha Smith is here to help with ASU questions three days a week.

Jim McGinnis will provide assistance with the UAFS Bachelor in Information Technology degree which is brand new on our campus this fall.

Suzanne Kenner provides great assistance with U of A’s awesome Master of Science in Operations Management.

All university students who complete their degree through the ANC University Center are invited to participate in the ANC Commencement Ceremony in addition to their University Commencement.  They lead in the procession of graduates and are presented the ANC Medallion of Honor for their wonderful accomplishment!  We are PROUD of our 200 plus graduates!

Early Registration for Fall 2009 on its way!

Spring is about to appear along with early registration for Fall 2009!  It is up to YOU to be ready with advising behind you after going through the admission process & financial aid applications (if needed).  There are steps to take and procedures to follow but YOU are the ONLY one who can do this.  There are many available to guide, assist and advise you, but it is ultimately up to you to follow through.  PLEASE DO NOT WAIT to begin the process!

Welcome to Spring 2009 in your ANC University Center!

Great news for ANC and ASU Early Childhood and Mid-Level Education students…Sandra Hawkins, ASU Education Advisor and Instructor, will be available at the ANC University Center two days a week for advising.  Her office hours will be 11 to 3 on Mondays and 11 to 1 on Wednesdays by appointment only and is subject to change.  She will be tentatively located in Room C203.  Please contact the University Center to schedule an appointment with Ms. Hawkins.  Our telephone number is 870-762-3137.

ANC University Center staff wishes you and your family a very merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009!

Fall 2008 was a great semester in your University Center and we look forward to Spring 2009!  Seven advisors from four universities have met with students both current and prospective at the University Center this fall.  New admissions as well as registration for Spring 2009 courses on our campus are well underway at all four universities.

A few dates you may find helpful…

  • The last day of ASU exams on the ANC campus is Friday, December 12.
  • ASU Commencement at Jonesboro is December 13, 2008.  Congratulations, Graduates!  Do not forget to confirm your December graduation with Kesha, Candice or Patsy in order to receive your invitation to participate in the ANC Commencement in May.  You will also receive the ANC Medallion of Honor for your achievement.  We are very proud of you!
  • The ANC campus will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays December 24, 2008, and re-opens January 2, 2009.
  • January 9, 2009, is the last day for admission to ASU for the spring semester.
  • January 12, 2009, is the first day of ASU classes.  Please note room assignments for each class will be posted on the ANC University Center website at www.anc.edu/universitycenter.
  • Late registration for ASU Spring ‘09 classes begins January 12 and ENDS January 16, 2009.
  • There will be no classes on the ANC campus Monday, January 19, 2009, since both ASU and ANC will be closed that day.
  • Links to the Academic Calendar of all four universities on our campus are found on the University Center website as well as class schedules and contact information for each degree.  That site address is www.anc.edu/universitycenter.
